Hi, I added a server in "Webmin Servers Index", it connects fine and I see a rectangle forthe added server, clicking on it opens a new tab in the browser. I understand that by doing this I can manage all servers centrally from the same GUI. I was expecting having the possibility in the same interface to switch between servers and manage them.
Am I mistaken and only In cab browse with another GUI connected to the 2nd server? (screenshot attached)
2nd, on that server I created a user as "root" when I try to add it as this user and click fast RPC, connection does not go through but it works fine with root login, any config I should do to allow the other user to register the server and not root.

    Hi,

any config I should do to allow the other user to register the server and not root.

Try opening the ports 10000 + n of servers manged. Usually opening ports 10000-10100 is enough.

    (opening in firewall)

You can see logs under /var/webmin for more details.

Hi, llia, not sure I understand why opening another port would allow a user to better log!!.
2nd, my main question was "manage all servers centrally from the same GUI", how this can be done?

The opened ports has nothing to do with logging; mentioned earlier opened ports are used by FastRPC to communicate with proxied Webmin instances.

If you mean to connect to other remote systems which are running Webmin - yes, possible by using Servers Index module.

Yes, as I said yesterday, clicking on the icon opens a new browser tab and I can access webmin for the remote but my question was if it is possible to chose a server in the same gui without the need to open a new tab, a sort of switching between severs in the same GUI in the same Tab.
I will add another port and see

Would you prefer opening it on the same window? That is possible, I think. Also we could add an icon to navigation menu to get back to master quickly.

if it is possible to chose a server in the same gui without the need to open a new tab, a sort of switching between severs in the same GUI in the same Tab.

Nice - this is a very good idea! I guess, we could add a dropdown to navigation menu to switch between Webmin servers quickly.

As for your screenshot. Try using an IP address, perhaps the hostname is not resolvable.

Yes of course, something similar to "Windows Admin Center" where you register all your windows servers and clicking on any one will display all items for the concerned server, so no need to leave the GUI, of course there is a button to go back to dashboard.

Hostname is resolvable, that is how I added the 1st connection for root

Okay, next Webmin release will have a new button and a dropdown in navigation menu which will let you switch between other registered Webmin servers with a single click. It will be displayed when logged into one of the remote servers.

    Monsieur,

Dans Grande Bretagne/ Royaume-Uni nous avons un dicton..

La patience est une vertu, rarement chez un homme..

Like other Linux etc applications Webmin has new releases which can be automatically installed or it will notify admins of new releases.

Add the appropriate update repository to your systems
(don't ask me I'm just a webmin user of 20 years..)
