    Hi!
I am pretty new to linux and specially debian. I have a webserver, apache, that works fine with .html and .php.
I used apt-get install webmin, and some extra packages, but it wont start.
I try to start it with /etc/init.d/webmin start, i dont get any error messages but no process is started.

    What should i do?

miniserv.pl is actually the program that runs, it
      is written in perl.

Webmin does not use or require apache or php.

Here's a couple things to check:
      > ps ax | grep miniserv
      1269 ?        Ss     0:40 /usr/bin/perl /usr/share/webmin/miniserv.pl /etc/webmin/miniserv.conf

      >  cat /var/run/webmin.pid
      1269

Also by default, webmin is configured to only allow connections from the localhost, so if you are trying
to connect from a remote machine it won't work.
Make sure in /etc/webmin/miniserv.conf there is no line
      like this:
      allow=127.0.0.1

Also by default, webmin listens on port 10,000
so your URL would look like this:

      http://mydomain:10000
