I am trying to use filesystem backup (in Webmin "system"). This used to work for me, but now looking at a number of servers (Webmin 1.890 and 1.881) I see an extremely limited interface (see attached screenshot).

I noticed Ubuntu 18.04 (on at least one server) hadn't installed the "dump" program. I just did that, which brought forward the "filesystem type" for the restore option (also in screenshot).

Regardless, when I "add a new backup of directory" I don't get any options to run the backup, exclude folders, schedule future backups -- all of which (unless I am totally forgetting something!) used to happen in this dialog.

Setting/changing configurable options (gear icon) such as "Do strftime substitution of backup destinations?" has no effect on the main dialog.

Changing to a different theme (i.e. "old webmin theme") doesn't bring forward all the options I used to see.

I have the same issue with Webmin running on Ubuntu 16.04.1 and LinuxMint 19 boxes too.

What are the dependencies for this tool?

Does anyone else have the same or similar issues?

(UPDATE: I have just tried on Webmin 1.894 and still have the same issues. )

    D'Oh!

I just realized on the workstation I was using the mouse is sometimes having problems clicking things (physical mouse button problem, apparently) and I was not adequately clicking the "add a new backup of directory" button yesterday.

So, now properly clicking "add a new backup of directory" does indeed lead to the more option-rich dialog!

Funny: now I don't see how to exclude directories, which I thought was in there somewhere before.
Perhaps I did it manually with "Extra command-line parameters" -- I'll go check another server with existing scheduled backups for some hints . . .
