I am trying to send mail to tom@tommackenzie.com. The MX record is mail.vavias.com (74.208.53.41).
This was working as of a few weeks ago (I may have reinstalled Postfix), but now is failing with return message "554 5.7.1 tom@tommackenzie.com: Relay access denied ".
I realize this may not be a webmin/virtualmin issue, but I beg of you some input. I am completely stumped. What do I need to configure in the Postfix module? Right now, I think it is a virgin config with:
(Why does an octothorpe make my text huge?)
Could this affect things? I'm very confused.
From PC:
C:\Users\tomma>telnet 74.208.53.41 25
Connecting To 74.208.53.41...
From Host:
telnet 74.208.53.41 25
Trying 74.208.53.41...
Connected to 74.208.53.41.
Escape character is '^]'.
220 mail.vavias.com ESMTP Postfix
Firewall:
Allow All TCP/UDP 25
You're always so kind.
Thanks,
Tom.
Also, question... beyond the extras in the Pro VM version, like install scripts, etc. would that get me premium to support handle issues like this (may or may not be WM/VM related)? I would pay the $100 for the year for that alone. And is that the correct route to take? The Pro Virtualmin?

Yes, definitely you'll get better support with Virtualmin Pro!
As for this issue, re-installing Postfix was probably a bad idea as it may have erased some config files. Make sure that in Virtualmin on the Edit User page for that
tomaccount that email is enabled for the user..OK, I just ordered VM Pro. Subscription #35848.
Here is the Info from VM Users tab.

Wondering why my host isn't responding on port 25 externally like it is internally, see OP... strange unless Postfix is only allowing incoming connections from localhost?
What do you see if you click on "tom" in the user list?
This is fixed now. I'm not sure what I did, but mail is working.
