The existing "File System Backup" module should include (in addtion to tar) an option to snapshot and send a ZFS file system to a compressed tar archive or remote location (over ssh) as documented in https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23824_01/html/821-1448/recover-3.html and https://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/zfs-zfs.html.
