Ok, that means it is a self-signed certificate, which is the default created by Webmin as it requires no CA. It's normal for the browser to require additional confirmation for this kind of cert.

Does Firefox give more details on why it isn't secure?
Hi Jamie,
Firefox says, that it does not trust the certificate, cause it has been signed by the owner.
Fehlercode: SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER
Thanks for a tip.

so there is no way to satisfy firefox?

You can request a real certificate with Let's Encrypt (in Webmin -> SSL Encryption), if you access webmin via a real internet-resolvable hostname.
Do you mean webmin must be a virtual host in apache?
at the moment it's called by mail.mydomain.com:10000
thanks for assistance
cheers mike
No, you can request a Let's Encrypt SSL cert for Webmin itself on the page I mentioned above, for use on port 10000.
thanks, jamie, for the info.
as far as i remember i have created the certificate like this.
as i only did this ONCE, i do not remember well. <bg>
btw, should i use the standard enabled options like:
Apache virtual host matching hostname
thanks for advice
cheers mike
