Hi,
there are two of them since new version:
[Use of uninitialized value $bind8::bind_version in pattern match (m//) at /usr/share/webmin/bind8/bind8-lib.pl line 55.]
[Use of uninitialized value $bind8::bind_version in numeric ge (>=) at /usr/share/webmin/bind8/bind8-lib.pl line 1437.]
Hope this helps to repair.
Thanks in advance
Cheers
mike
What does the /etc/webmin/bind8/version file contain on your system?
Hi Jamie,
i attach the /etc/webmin/bind8/config
only file in this folder.

What output do you get from the command
named -von your system?you mean just -v ???
i get
sh: 1: -v: not found
cheers mike
No, I mean "named -v" (without the quotes)
same procedure:
??

That's pretty odd, as I'd expect that the BIND
namedcommand is installed somewhere on your system! Try finding it with :find / -type f -name namedi tried:
find / -type f -name named
but the system finds nothing.

Which Linux distro and version is this?
Debian Linux 8
Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 on x86_64
cheers mike
So the file
/usr/sbin/nameddoesn't exist on your system? If not, are you sure that BIND is even installed?Actually, when are you seeing this error anyway?
when i verify installed software packages i cannot find any BIND installed
i do not remember having installed this software.
so the error seems to come without having this software in use.
hope this helps.

looking at webmin installed modules, i do not know how to verify which modules are installed.
atleast i do not remember having installed the webmin module named bind dns server.

Ok, I understand now - this will be fixed in the next Webmin release.
thanks Jamie,
cheers mike
hi jamie,
recognized, that you updated the bind module.
nevertheless this error message still comes up:
Use of uninitialized value $bind8::bind_version in numeric ge (>=) at /usr/share/webmin/bind8/bind8-lib.pl line 1437.
i do not know if this is related to your change.
just wanted to inform you.
all the best
cheers mike
That's harmless, but I'll fix it
thanks,
cheers mike
