#4398 Webmin apache2-mpm-prefork update hangs

With latest Webmin (1.680) on Ubuntu 12.04 LAMP (Linux 3.2.0-24-virtual on i686, hosted on DigitalOcean) the latest batch of patches hangs on this:

Haven't done anything with that server for months, just updating via Webmin. As I really don't know what's going on have to take the whole server back from backup. Tried multiple times that way.

Please advise.

    Are you perhaps accessing Webmin via an Apache proxy?

    Sorry, thinking some more you're right. Good catch! I'm proxing localhost:10000 via an apache vhost to expose to the outside. I have terminal access to this server. What would you suggest to update Webmin, and how to avoid this side-effect with future updates? Thanks!

    The only way to avoid this would be to update from the shell, or to access Webmin directly (not through the proxy).
