I have set maildir in postfix configuration to /var/spool/mail/
I need the end backslash to make it maildir, otherwise it would be a mailbox
When I go to Read User Mail, it shows mailbox sizes for users correctly, but when I select a user mailbox, it does not show any emails, maybe because the path is taken with doubl backslashes.
So on your system, does each user have a directory under /var/spool/mail that is a maildir?
At the moment, yes. Postfix creates separate mail folder for each user.

#4305Webmin may not be able to handle that configuration currently.
What directives did you add to your Postfix config to have it deliver to Maildir-format subdirectories under /var/spool/mail ?
I have
mail_spool_directory = /var/spool/mail/
in main.cf
