Hello,

Sry my bad english , i hope you will understand .

I've added a field in a custom command ( parameter name , description , type - password , and a password , required- yes ) . When i'm testing , without entering any info , it's working ok , the command is not executed , but , when i'm entering any word different then my real password , in that filed ( password field ) , the command is executed . I-ve tested on two different root's , debian , updated , and webmin , the last version ,all up to date .

Thank you !

So a "password" field is just like a text field, but with the password you enter hidden with stars. There is no actual validation done that the password is correct ..

Yes, but the problem is that when you create a password button and run button, regardless of the password entered, correct or not, the action button is held, why? Logical and normal, if the password was wrong, action should be denied. Now you understand?

So does your script that the custom command runs validate the password? Because webmin will not, at least not in the custom commands module.

Well, excuse me asking , but how could my script to read a typed password in a webmin field ?

If your parameter field is called pass , you can access it in your script via $pass environment variable.

OMG ! Thank you ! So there is no bug, but the idea is that when I had to change 10 passwords to 10 scripts is more work for me. Instead it was easier if, webmin, knew how to interpret what I type in that field, and validate. Anyway, thanks again.
