#365 upgrade trouble
I attempted to upgrade from 0.87 to 0.93 on Mandrake
Linux 8.1. First, I tried the rpm packages using rpm
-U (your instructions) but found that I could no longer
log into webmin. Then I uninstalled with urpme and
reinstalled 0.87 and then ran rpm -Fvh to install
version 0.93. Still couldn't login. Then I uninstalled
webmin and then installed 0.93 with rpm -ivh. Still
couldn't log in. So, I uninstalled 0.93 and then tried
the 0.93 tarball. I got logged in. But, I changed the
listening port from ALL to 10000 and webmin crashed and
I can't even get a login screen even though service
webmin status shows that webmin is running. I tried
service webmin restart and that didn't help. I have
reinstalled 0.87 and can log in.
One of the reasons why I'm upgrading is that the SSH
module doesn't work in 0.87. And it looks like whoever
bought out mindbright is asking for money for an
upgrade. What can I say? I'm cheap.
