I'm using SUSE 7.1. I tried to install webmin as
described in the Webmin Page. I also did it with YAST
but the problem is that the installation starts but
never finished. rpm and yast didn't react anymore. I
tried to install it on 2 different PC's with SUSE 7.1.

The update of a SUSE 7.0 machine worked fine and fast.

Whats wrong?

Thanks
Dietmar

I've just installed Webmin onto my Suse 7.1 installation
    with no problems.

Yast is probably getting confused by the background process
    that
the webmin RPM starts. Does this problem still happen if you
    install
from the command line with rpm -i webmin-0.85.rpm ?

I encountered the same problem while installing at SuSe 7.0
using yast as well as with rpm. Setup.sh hangs without any
    error message.

    Any hints?

    Thanks

I encountered the same problem while installing onto SuSe
7.0 using yast as well rpm solely. Setup.sh hangs without
    any error message.

    Any hints?

    Thanks

Well, I just found a solution. Run the setup.sh
in /usr/libexec/webmin directly after the failed rpm-
installation. It runs flawlessly thus giving no hint to the
reason for its failure with rpm.

    Much luck

The problem is definately with YAST then.. I would suggest
    that anyone
installing the webmin RPM on suse just run rpm -i
    webmin-0.85.rpm
    from the command line.

I had the same problem with SuSE 7.0. Installing Webmin from
SuSE cd was ok, when I upgraded to 0.85 the yast
installation never finisched. The manual installation with
setup.sh worked fine. The problem is that I don't know if
rc.config is updated properly or I will loose some setup the
    next time it's processed.
