I have been using webmin v1.17 on my old Linux server
(Fedora Core 4) and everything worked fine. I recently
bought a FIC Condor Small Form Factor machine for use
as my new server (to save space). I installed CentOS
v4.2 (which is supposedly the same as RHEL 4.0 but
without the Redhat logos). When I installed webmin
v1.240, I was suprised to find that the Network
Configuration module is not showing up. I then thought
maybe it was the new version 1.240 that had the
problem. So, I installed the Old 1.17 version that I
know SHOULD have that Network Configuration Module.
But, to my dismay...the Network Configuration Module
didn't show up with that version either. I have an
onboard 10/100 MB/s NIC and a PCI buslink 1000/100/10
MB/s NIC. Both seem to work in Linux itself...I'm able
to configure the ip address, gateway and everything
else. But, I'd like to be able to configure it in
webmin too.

Thanks!

There is a bug in Webmin 1.240 regarding the detection of
CentOS that causes this problem. To fix it, un-install
Webmin and then install the latest development version from
    http://www.webmin.com/devel.html

I was thinking about trying to change the redhat-release
file for the 1.240 version, but I ruled that out since that
is exactly what I had to do in order to successfully install
v1.17. Since v1.17 "sees" the redhat-release as 'Fedora
Core 4 (Stentz)' and it still doesn't have the Network
Configuration Module, I was assuming it may be some
    incompatibility with my NIC(s) hardware.

I'll take a look at the link you sent, but I'm not confident
    it will make a difference.

    Thanks,
    Dave
