Hello,

I am running webmin 1.210 on a FC2 computer.
After a few days, webmin hangs, and no access is
possible through port 10000.
A restart of the webmin solves the problem.

Any idea?

regards,

mike

this is the same as my problem with multple procs I think,
upgrading to 1.216 solves the problem for a short time but
    it is still happening

I hope it's ok to use this bug, the other is closed.

it seems to be connections from other machines to port 10000
using all the IP's on the server, from costa rica in this case

    tcp 0 1 131.203.xx.xx:10000 200.91.86.204:2719 FIN_WAIT1

this server uses the webmin IP access control and
hosts.allow to limit access to specific IP's, is this
connection from outside a security risk? besides slowly
taking out webmin's use with all the processes.

killing the process of 1 just makes a new session and
sometimes quite a few, if I manage to kill all but 1 I'm
    locked out.

There is a bug in all released Webmin versions that prevent
it from checking connecting IPs until after reading the HTTP
request, which is too late in this case. The next release
    will fix it ..
Until then, you could use one of the firewall modules to
deny access to port 10000 to hosts you don't trust.

This attack is not a security risk, rather more of an
    un-intentional DOS attack.
