#1857 Config option for (no) shadow file does nothing

Brian Grell

Try not to flame me for being setup like this ( I know
its dumb), but they way our shop is setup is we don't
have a shadow file. Oldschool all the way. In the
configuration for "Users and Groups", there is an
option to specify a shadow file, or select none. This
leaves the config options in /etc/useradmin/config blank

Now, in the ~/webmin-1.170/useradmin/ directory, there
is a config file for solaris. This files doesn't
change with the above settings (and maybe it shouldn't,
I don't know). But in the corresponding
solaris-lib.pl, the 'sub passfiles_type' simply
returns a 2.

I would think this is a bug in that it should check the
configuration options, and either return a 0 or a 2,
depending on how the module is configured.

Solaris 2.6 Generic_105181-15
Ultra 60
Webmin 1.170

Thanks for pointing this out - in the next Webmin release, I
will update that 'return 2' line in solaris-lib.pl to read :

    return &password_file($config{'shadow_file'}) ? 2 : 0;

which will do the right thing. My current code just assumes
that a shadow file will always be used on Solaris :-)
