When trying to add the "-r" switch to run the syslog in daemon mode, the swicth does not work. I had to browse to /etc/sysconfig and modify the syslog file there to add the "-r" switch.
OS: Redhat 7.3 Webmin: 1.110

A better option is to click on Module Config in the System Logs module and fill in the 'Command to start syslog' field with 'syslog -r'
