It looks like the Amazon search engine A9 has become a search engine to its own products only and a search aggregator using the http://www.opensearch.org protocol. Perhaps if OpenSearch gets enough adoption, then the searchArticles.pl script should get enhanced to be a search engine capable of supporting this interface.
