It is suggested that we allow for direct funds transfer
to minimise the dependency on cheques. If security is a
potential issue I suggest we open a ‘shell’ account
which would only be used for receiving these funds
which would be transferred immediately to the main
account via WWW banking.

Very time consuiming ofr someone (eg Sue Kelo in 2005) to
produce and email invoices, receipts and in some cases
credit notifications to each conference participant.
The process needs to be streamlined or automated.
Conference admin needs to receive notification that payment
has been successful.
Conference admin needs a copy of the receipt for records.

I have noted Andre's very good suggestions regarding credit
card payments. The preferred option is to link WCMT to a
Commonwealth Bank-hosted credit card payment system,
CommWeb. I have uploaded details of CommWeb. I can obtain
further details of the system if required.
Two other points are worth noting. MSSANZ will still need
facilities for acceptance of cheque payments. Automatic
generation of readily printable receipts would also be a
very useful enhancement to WCMT
