When trying to start a new speech analysis, Wavesurfer throws an exception related to pitch only working with Mono sounds. See the attached image for more information.
I usually side-step this problem by setting the Properties to Mono sound: right click on the Wave bar, Properties, Set number of channels: 1.
I have heard that old versions of Wavesurfer (up to 1.8.5) did not require mono sounds for pitch analysis, but I don't know where to find the old versions.
