With Steve Harris' plugins in the Plugins folder as directed, (ie. Plugins is in the same folder as WaveShop.exe) using 1.0.12, the plugins aren't discovered by WaveShop on first run, or any run thereafter, so far in my testing.
My question is: Will putting the line PluginFolder= in the settings section of WaveShop.ini allow the plugins to be used, or is their use not possible when running portably?

Hi, OK I'll try to help. I just tried unzipping waveshop-1.0.12.000-portable.zip and running WaveShop, and it definitely discovers the eight plugins that are included in the WaveShop package. So we do have a mystery. I have some questions for you.
Did you try opening an audio file? The Plugin menu does NOT appear until you open a document.
What Windows version are you running? And is it 32-bit or 64-bit?
Where did you get the WaveShop package? From the WaveShop website (or WaveShop's SourceForge page), or from one of the portable app sites?
Are you referring to the eight plugins that are included in the WaveShop package? Or do you mean the full set of 92 plugins? If it's the full set, did you get them from WaveShop's download page, or somewhere else? If they're from the WaveShop website, which version did you take, 32-bit or 64-bit? The key point is that you MUST use 32-bit plugins with 32-bit WaveShop, and 64-bit plugins with 64-bit WaveShop: there's no way around that. You can tell them apart by checking the .zip file name, or by right-clicking one of the plugins in Windows Explorer and selecting Properties, and then the Version tab. If it's a 64-bit plugin, the Description will be "LADSPA DLL (x64)", otherwise it will just be "LADSPA DLL".
To answer your question, you can set the PluginsFolder .INI variable, but you shouldn't need to, IF the plugins are in the right place, which is in a subfolder of whatever folder WaveShop.exe is in, called "Plugins". That's how it should be set up if you just take the package (waveshop-1.0.12.000-portable.zip, or waveshop-1.0.12.000-portable-x64.zip) and unzip it. Depending on what unzipping method you use, it's possible the plugins might end up in the same folder as WaveShop.exe, instead of in a Plugins subfolder. That would NOT work! You could probably force it to work by setting PluginsFolder, but I'm not recommending that.
