Not sure if I am doing something wrong but I am using WaveShop to modify mp3 files and when I save the file all the mp3tag information disappears from the saved file.
    Can anyone help?

Metadata editing is on roadmap and possibly up next. See the Development page for links to the roadmap and the detailed issues list. The problem is non-trivial because there isn't a unified solution: libsndfile provides metadata support for most audio formats but not mp3 or mp4. The current focus is on developing a LADSPA plugin host which will provide WaveShop with EQ, compression, and many other useful audio effects. Thanks for the feedback.

Had WS for 1.5 days and spent some hours confirming that after trying a half dozen others this works for me. I record from radio creating 4-5 hr. files of classical music. I then pick the carcass throwing out the news breaks and saving works of 5 min. to over an hour. I couldn't find a direct way of saving a selection so I start from beginning chopping off selections cutting what I want to save, minimizing the main file window, pasting into a new window which I save and then delete after which I maximize what's left of the main file. It sure works well but I'd appreciate confirmation that I'm employing the best process.

It's possible to save the current selection via the Export command, but this will create one file for each channel, which probably isn't what you want. So you are correct, the best way to do what you want is via the copy/cut/paste/delete editing commands. The two usual methods are, 1) copy the sections you want and paste them into a destination document, or 2) delete the sections you don't want from the original document, and then save it as a copy. Which method is more efficient depends on the situation and your personal preference.

Thanks. I have a good handle on the program now and recorded over 4 hr. to-day and even effortlessly cleaned up the file to listen to over the next 3 hr. of dinner and reading. I already like it much better than what I was using for the last 10 years. It is a real match for my powerful computer the components for which I selected about 2 years ago. I will certainly post an excellent honest review in a day or so.
