We are trying to simulate dropping of connections by firewalls and routers.
Here is what we want o achieve.
Client makes a http post to server.
Server sleeps for a while. We are doing this to keep the connection between the client and the server idle . What we want to happen is the response from the server (HTTP) should not get back to the client and the client should keep on waiting forever.
We are routing the traffic though wanem and here are the settings on wanem in advanced mode.
idle timer disconnect , type = tcp reset , idle timer = 30 , disconnect timer = 300. Loss %= 30.
Is there some problem in the setting that prevents us from doing this.
Would you be able to provide a usecase where we can see the idle timer working.
