On a rare occasion or two I've had to disable one of my two monitors. When this occurs WM isn't quite sure how to handle this issue. After the second monitor is re-enabled the error persists. I manually edit the data file to rectify the situation. I hope that a regression solution would not update the config/data file so that I don't lose all of my existing multi-monitor image data.
This happens to me on a consistent basis any time the monitor count changes. I'm on a laptop and am in and out of my dock quite a bit, so it goes from 3 -> 1 a lot or 3 -> 0 (lid closed, laptop screen disabled) , as well as from 1 -> 0 (lid closed, laptop screen disabled), and it also happens consistently when returning from hibernate or standby.
