Just in time for the Christmas Holidays, it gives us great pleasure to announce the biggest and best release of Wacs yet! For those dark and cold winters nights, tidy up that hard drive p**n collection so you can find all your favourite sets and models once again! With this release, just about all of the image set collection management code is web based with a smooth enough workflow that even those of us used to the command line interface have switched over to it! For the first time, we've included a couple of sample model records to give you an idea how they should look. The import/export routines for model details are now joined by matching tools for sets, so data interchange between wacs sites is now easier than ever. But that doesn't even begin to scratch the surface on the changes we've made to Wacs itself. There are numerous little things that we've fixed, improved and added that while not revolutionary, should vastly improve the browsing experience. We've also done some usability testing and taken note of first time users comments; those have been noted and small changes made to make things a little more obvious and easier to use. While the video side of things works great for retrieval and on the command line, the web-based management tools aren't quite there yet and early in the new year there'll be a 0.7.4 release to address those issues. We've also got very exciting plans for a shared meta-data project for the new year - tell us the details of a model on one site and we'll tell you where else her work has been seen. Anyway, Enjoy! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all the Wacs developers. Cheers, Beaky. December 14th, 2007. |
