You get this message if you are trying to use CVS in a directory at the same
time as someone else. I have about 18 VXL source trees for dashboard
builds, so when this happens it is often my lock. If the message persists,
that usually means there is a "stale" lock file on the server. There is a
special support request on SourceForge just for this situation, to get the
stale file removed on the server. However, this one seems to be gone now -
I was just able to update an entire VXL tree. Perhaps some network delay
worked itself out, or maybe SourceForge has implemented some kind of skulker
to remove lock files.
