I am trying to save an image of type vil_rgb<vxl_byte>
and it keeps complaining about VIL_PIXEL_FORMAT_BYTE
assertion. I am working in red hat linux. Can any body
give me any idea what to do with this error.

When sending such request, please include a lot more information.

This should include details of what image format are your trying to use,=20
and a cut and paste of the assert message.
