With the versions you describe, and if you have just updated
vidl_video2image.cxx, and/or vidl_io.*, I don't see how you could have got
the errors you describe. However, the ability of computing to obfuscate real
problems and provide misleading errors is boundless.
I've looked at the changes to vidl since release 1.0.0 and I think they
should work with the rest of VXL kept at 1.0.0. If you want, you can try
getting a full copy of the latest development version of VXL from the CVS
repository, http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=24293, and copying vidl
over the top of your release. If that doesn't work, then I would suggest
using the latest CVS version of VXL, which appears to be in an okay state
Trying to selectively update anything else would mostly likely cause a lot
of errors, since we have made a lot of changes to the build and
configuration system since v.1.0.0. You will also need the latest version of
CMake (1.8.1 or 1.8.2 if it is available.)
