G'day Maintainers, I have made a pre-release version of vxl-1.5.0 and have put it on the download area for vxl. I have tested it on linux Fedora core 3 (I think) - gcc 4.0.2, Linux version 2.6.14-1.1653_FC4smp. Anyway, if a few others could download and test it on their machines that would be great - in particular, some Windows test installs would be useful. If you could let me know by early next week then I'll make the announcement. -- Cheers, Brendan. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brendan McCane Email: mc...@cs... Hi Brendan, I ran a test install/build with MSVC .NET 2003. I turned on VXL_USE_LFS and also set ECW_INCLUDE_DIR, ECW_ncsecw_LIBRARY and ECW_ncsutil_LIBRARY. Here are the problems that I ran into: 1) I got a cmake error while saying says that it cannot find file vxl-1.5.0/contrib/tbl/vipl/vipl_with_section/vipl_filterable_section_contain er_generator_section.txx Looking at the directory, I saw that the file it's looking for is actually named vipl_filterable_section_container_generator_section.txx0000644. I removed the '0000644' from the end and cmake completed successfully. 2) Then, when I open vxl.sln in visual Studio, I get this warning twice: "The project 'vsol_test_include' cannot be added to the current solution because a project with the same name or project filename already exists in the solution." When examining the cmake generated solution file (attached) in a text editor, I see that the the vsol_test_include project does appear to be included three times. That explains why visual studio is complaining. I'm building the solution now and will let you know if I run into any further problems. Rob -> -----Original Message----- -> From: vxl...@li... I didn't get this with Cygwin tar or with PKZIP for Windows version 5, just as another data point. > 2) Then, when I open vxl.sln in visual Studio, I get this warning twice: > "The project 'vsol_test_include' cannot be added to the current solution > because a project with the same name or project filename already exists in > the solution." I've fixed this in CVS. There were cut-n-paste errors (probably) in the test names in gel/mrc/vpgl and vpgl/algo. I'm building right now with GCC 4.1.0 on Redhat and MSVC 7.1 with NMake on XP. Hi Amitha, I'm happy either way. I intend tarring up again anyway, given the problems with MSVC 7.1 (triply included tests). Just let me know what you decide. So just move the vxl-1-5 tags from CVS version 1.40 to 1.41 on this file... -- Peter. |

I've committed two changes to rgrl and to gevd to fix the errors there. The current CVS builds fine on GCC 4.1.0 now. Amitha. |

As mentioned in other emails, the GCC 4.1.0 errors are now fixed. Also, I just committed support for ICC 8.1 (by disabling the kludge required for 8.0). I've put it in the VXL 1.5 changes section, assuming that you would retag the whole respository for the new tarball. If you are only going to move the tags for the fixed files (which may imply less testing), I'll just move the text to after vxl 1.5. Amitha. |
