[Vxl-users] Freeglut error when running vgui example

Hello all, I now want to use vgui in my project, but when I run the example
in  core/vgui/examples/example_text_windows, an error occured:

*freeglut  ERROR:  Function <glutBitmapCharacter> called without first
calling 'glutInit'.
vgui::uninit called*

My settings are : Ubuntu 7.10, freeglut 2.4.0. gcc 4.1.2
After some google, I understood this error a little better:

It seems that the freeglut of version 2.4.0 results in this error. But how
can I fix it?
