The migration of VXL from Subversion to Git is essentially complete.  However, we are leaving the new git repository in "read-only mode" until tomorrow to allow time for some additional testing.  You should be able to do everything except push changes back to the server.  In fact you can test pushing changes back to the server as well.  If everything would have succeeded you should get the message below:

remote: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
remote: updates temporarily not allowed
remote: See
remote: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
remote: error: hook declined to update refs/heads/master

Please follow these instructions to get started:

In addition to this wiki, we have updated the main VXL website to refer to Git, converted the WWW repository containing the website to a Git repository, and updated the nightly documentation builds at Kitware to pull from Git instead of Subversion.  Whoever is maintaining the documentation builds hosted at Brown and Manchester will need to do the same.  Anyone who maintains a dashboard build will also need to update it to pull from the Git repository.  Instructions are on the wiki.

I will send another e-mail (and also an e-mail to vxl-users) tomorrow when we lift the restriction on writing to the repository.  The old Subversion repository will remain for now in a read-only state.  It has been updated to produce a CMake error if anyone tries to build it.  The git-svn tracking repository will be removed shortly.  Let me know if there are any questions or issues.
