Hello all,
I just wanted to take a second to introduce myself.  My name is Rob Radtke and I've been introducing myself to VXL (primarily VIL) over the last year or so.  My interest in VXL has spawned from some image processing work I've been doing recently for the Air Force Research Labs.  The library has helped me out a great deal and I'm anxious to contribute some work back.
Currently myself and a coworker of mine have developed a vil_image_resoure subclass that we hope will be useful to the rest of the community.  The class is named vil_nitf21_image and it is a fairly robust implementation of NITF reading that can handle both NITF 2.1 and 2.0 files.  It can read all the uncompressed data formats and handles files with multiple images.  It also contains a generic framework for parsing custom TREs (tagged record extensions).
My sourceforge account name is 'radtker'
I look forward to working with you all in the future.
