The error is only with the emailed commit notification (sends out a message to the ‘vxl-commit’ mailing list whenever anyone does a commit: some people like to keep an eye on what is going on).  It looks like the smtp server at sourceforge is broken: this just means that the emails are not being sent out, but commits are still working just fine.
