I've enabled snort on my firewall for all the connections to my mail system. But I wonder if it really works as I want it. Looking to the firewall log I see a lot of SMTP connections but according to the mail system log they never get there. This might be correct but I want to be sure.
How can I figure out if this snort thing works as expected?
