    hi,

I tried the new traffic shaping feature of the new vuurmuur alpha release.
It does everything i need :D

But I did not get it working :(
I made a Rule, Allow any service, from everywhere to everywhere and set up shaping
with 2000kbit for every rate. And I've set the path to TC.
But i still got the full speed if i transfer files over samba for example...

    anything else to do ??

    thanks

Did you also setup shaping on the interface(s)? What settings did you use there?

Don't worry, the docs need a lot of work... so I don't blame you :)

If you are interested in helping out with the docs.......

Does the shaping work as you expected now?

      yes it works !!
      fucking awesome dude :D

except, I'm a bit confused with the Priority....

But i got some other strange problems, not related with shaping i guess.
I got a rule allow any service from LAN to FW and one vice versa, although
i cant connect to anywhere :-|

Ok solved this problem... I forgot a rule....

But I got some other questions about the shaping:

      1. The Priority
You wrote in the manual that usual traffic has prio 3. What means a higher or lower number ?
and in which range can i set the prio ?

      2. The bandwith
What if I enter 0 ? does this mean no limit (the interface limit) ?

and finally a suggestion for the gui: I think it would be cool to have a selection reachable with the space-bar
for the bandwith scale unit. This would prevent misstypings.

About the priority: 1 is highest. Highest priority means it has preference over lower priorities.

Bandwidth setting of 0 means the same as not setting it, like you assumed.

The gui suggestion was already on my todo list, I'm a bit busy with other stuff lately so it may take a while...

        Thanks!
