We are experiencing some rather strange behavior in vufind2.
After successfully importing thousands of marc records into vufind 2, we tweaked our marc_local.properties with the followup plan to remove our index and re-import our marc records.
Well, following the instructions on https://vufind.org/wiki/re-indexing, we stopped vufind, then clearly deleted our index, and finally started up vufind, as we always have.
But even before we re-imported our marc records, they never went away. We can still search and browse our records as before, even though /solr/biblio contains no index!
Also, ./vufind.sh stop seems to have absolutely no effect: our vufind continues to be up and running, no matter how many times we try to stop it.
Are we looking for indices in all the wrong places?
Has anyone else experienced this inability to stop vufind or to index an index?
(The change we attempted, by the way, was to modify marc_local.properties so that the import did not use the 099 field in mapping LC call numbers to the call number facet, but that's another issue, which I'll describe at a later date.)
