Does anyone have a link to some basic doco on the logic of how boosting
interacts with Boolean logic and nesting? My Google-fu has failed me, I
can see plenty of simple references to boosting, but always in relation
to a single field.
Some examples I understand on a basic level require tweaking in our
install, and I want to make sure I'm doing it the right way.
((title_short^750 OR title^500))^50 OR author^700
So if I was to search for a single keyword that was in all three fields
it would get?
(750 + 500) * 50 + 700? All matches add up, nesting multiplies?
(750) * 50? Boolean logic gives the biggest scores priority with OR,
both are added with AND, and nesting multiplies?
