It has been suggested here that we need to upgrade our PHP and MySQL versions. We are on PHP 5.2.4 and MySQL 5.0.51, which I am told are "years out of date", though they were the reccommended versions when we first installed VuFind. 1) What is being used for development? 2) What is being used in production? . . . 3) Should we expect updated reccommendations based on the above? |

Hi Jeff, There's something to be said for keeping the natives happy. We upgrade whenever our sysadmins want to, and they generally just keep up-to-date with security patches. It has nothing to do with versions required to run the app, so they all work for VuFind. If you want to upgrade I'd suggest sticking to the latest release of your sub-version, and of course do it on a test server first. MySQL 5.1.34 is the latest version, but 5.0.x has ongoing support after 5.1's launch.
