Hi I cannot get the book covers and summaries working. I have created an aws account with Amozon and have put the id in the .ini file. However it seems to timeout. I sit behind a proxy and am wondering if this has anything to do with it? Brett - this maybe be a bit of a pain to test - but if you open up the bookcover.php file and find the url for amazon and copy that into a browser while entering in your amazon id as well as the isbn for the record - you should be able to see what is happening. Let me know if you are able to get this to work or not. It should look like this: http://webservices.amazon.com/onca/xml?Service=AWSECommerceService&SubscriptionId=<MYAMAZONID>&Operation=ItemLookup&ResponseGroup=Images&ItemId=<ISBN<http://webservices.amazon.com/onca/xml?Service=AWSECommerceService&SubscriptionId=%3cMYAMAZONID%3e&Operation=ItemLookup&ResponseGroup=Images&ItemId=%3cISBN>> Andrew From: vuf...@li... Hi Andrew I edited the url below and put in my id and an isbn. I received an xml document that refers to urls with jpgs, and when I put them in a browser the picture came up. So it seems to me that part works. When I look in the bookcover.php file the next part refers to PEAR. I seem to be having a pear issue at present would this cause the bookcovers to fail? The problem is if i enter pear list-all for example I receive the following File http://us.pear.php.net:80/rest/c/categories.xml not valid (received: HTTP/1.0 401 Authentication Required) Hamish ________________________________ From: Andrew Nagy [mailto:and...@vi...] Sent: Monday, 28 April 2008 11:18 PM To: Brett, Hamish; vuf...@li... Hamish - yes, it sounds like you are having an issue with pear. Try running the following: pear upgrade pear Then see if this fixes your issues. Hi Andrew - this is what happened i ran as root #pear upgrade pear and I received this error; "Error getting channel info from pear.php.net: File http://pear.php.net:80/rest/p/packages.xml <http://pear.php.net:80/rest/p/packages.xml> not valid (received: HTTP/1.1 401 Authentication Required) Nothing to upgrade" so I tried #pear list-all and got the error message above so I tried another pear machine on our network it was working when running #pear list-all but not on the vufind machine, so I then looked on the pear website and ran the following; #pear upgrade --force http://pear.php.net/get/PEAR-1.4.3.tar <http://pear.php.net/get/PEAR-1.4.3.tar> and then #pear upgrade pear and then #pear list-all the above 3 commands worked I then restarted vufind (I am using the vufind user) and the bookcovers still do not work. I then tried #pear upgrade pear and got the same error as I began with "Error getting channel info from pear.php.net: File http://pear.php.net:80/rest/p/packages.xml <http://pear.php.net/rest/p/packages.xml> not valid (received: HTTP/1.1 401 Authentication Required) Nothing to upgrade" I feel like I am going round in circles Any help would be appreciated Hamish ________________________________ From: Andrew Nagy [mailto:and...@vi...] Sent: Wednesday, 30 April 2008 10:43 PM To: Brett, Hamish; vuf...@li... Hamish - Restarting vufind has nothing to do with apache nor php - so that should have no effect on pear. What version of PHP are you using? Try this: uncomment the last 2 lines in the .htaccess file and then load the bookcover script in your browser: http://localhost/vufind/bookcover.php?isn=1234567890 Andrew From: Brett, Hamish [mailto:Ham...@ds...] Sent: Monday, May 05, 2008 1:50 AM To: Andrew Nagy; vuf...@li... Hi Andrew I am using PHP 5.2.0 I uncommnented the last 2 lines of .htaccess and restarted apache and vufind I ran the script in my browser with http://localhost/vufind/bookcover.php?isn=1234567890 and got the 'no image gif' without any errors i assumed that the 10 digit number was the isbn number so I went to amazon grabbed a number that has a bookcover i.e. http://localhost/vufind/bookcover.php?isn=0061553395 and still recieved the 'no image gif' without any errors What do you reckon?
