Hi Christian! Finally, something that I can be of some help again (really hope so! ;) ) Please find it attached (ssl.conf), but I guess this is pretty standard. Questions: - did you go through this entire process: http://tldp.org/HOWTO/SSL-RedHat-HOWTO-3.html#ss3.1 (do you have /etc/apache2/ssl.crt/server.crt and /etc/apache2/ssl.key/server.key)? [having a CA-signed certificate or using a Self-Signed Certificate is the same for this purpose -- in the later, users will get a warning about that] - can you share a "tail" of /var/log/apache2/error_log + /var/log/apache2/ssl_request_log (if it exists)? We'll try to carry on from there. After renaming the file to our-vufind-instance.conf and restarting the apache no errors occur. Anyway netstat (parameters: -ltn) doesn't show the port 403 and our instance is not available when I switch to https. I also tried the steps descripted in https://vufind.org/wiki/security Therefore I added the three lines to the normal conf-file and changed the base url to https. The instance was not accessible not on http nor on https. Could someone send me their ssl.conf or does anybody have hints where to look at? Thanks in advance, Christian |
