If you keep having the problem intermittently and want to rule out VuFind as the culprit, you could consider temporarily switching to the “NoILS” driver to disable Symphony communications and see if that makes a difference….

This may have nothing to do with vufind, but we wanted to make sure it was related to webservices.

Our Symphony 3.4 froze twice this week, both times apparently as the result of some rampant sort. Once we killed that sort, we were up and running, even without a restart.

But we couldn’t figure from where those sorts were originating.

The time of the freeze was approximately the same time as the above log.

One idea that crossed our minds was that SirsiDynix webservices might be at fault, perhaps logging in behind the scenes whenever it pulled forth holdings information or other dynamic content.

As you can see, we are grasping at straws.

Thanks,

Thom

Where are you seeing that?  Doesn’t look familiar to me as either a VuFind or Apache error. A Google search for “webstarter never shut down websession for station” didn’t turn anything up either, which is unusual!

Related to trouble-shooting an issue, we are wondering if anyone knows what the following error message means?

“WEBSESSION(shutdown):1:webstarter never shut down websession for station 23”

Thanks,
