I would say, as the error suggests, somehow there is a not closed "field" definition in solr/biblio/conf/schema.xml

If it's the latest trunk version of it (6215 as of today), line 192 is:

 <field name="is_hierarchy_id" type="string" indexed="true" stored="true" multiValued="false"/>

Nevertheless it's strange the problem being detected in column 9... perhaps the problem is within the line before.

Could you share this file, please?

I've just "broken" my solr/biblio/conf/schema.xml (in a random field) and got a similar message:

SEVERE: Exception during parsing file: schema:org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; systemId: solrres:/schema.xml; lineNumber: 159; columnNumber: 85; Element type "field" must be followed by either attribute specifications, ">" or "/>".

All the best (have a nice X-Mas),

Bad news:

Last night I was loading the latest marc file (valid-newest.mrc). I deleted the old index and started importing valid-newest.mrc. I got the following error message. Nothing got imported. Now the index is empty. VuFind is not working now.

SEVERE: Exception during parsing file: schema:org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; systemId: solrres:/schema.xml; lineNumber: 192; columnNumber: 9; The end-tag for element type "field" must end with a '>' delimiter.

I don't know how this happens and what the error message means.

I shouldn't have deleted the old index so early.
