Hi Folks,

When I wrote the HorizonXML driver, we didn't have access to the Restful APIs. Unfortunately, I have long since lost access to a Horizon server so can't offer any further assistance.

Thanks,

Luke

Hi Mark

That would be most kind.

Carlos,
When I was consulting with Douglas County we wrote a SIP implementation
that handled holds and renewals (we did not do recalls). I should be
able to find a copy of that driver if it would be helpful.

Update: We've tried to use the HorizonXMLAPI driver (which seems to
use the Horizon Information Portal (a set of applications that run on
JBoss) catalogue interface, and we did see some

appearing on item records, but when we tried to place holds or recalls
we got errors (see attached screenshot).

Unfortunately we've had to shut down VuFind because we also found a
recurrence of there being too many Sybase licenses being used (we'd
tried to boost the number of available licenses, with very limited
success).

Horizon <emphasis>does</emphasis> have a RESTful API (the
aforementioned hzws); has anyone tried to, for example, adapt the
VoyagerRestful driver for Horizon Web Services? Was this successful?

Carlos.

I was (and am) using the plain Horizon driver, though I guess if I want
holds and renewals (or at the very least holds) I'll have to lok at the
HorizonXMLAPI (which at a guess uses Horizon Web Services (hzws))

I believe that Luke O'Sullivan had holds/recalls working in Horizon
(he's the author of the HorizonXMLAPI driver), but the VuFind
instance in question is no longer in use. Are you using the base
driver or the XML API driver?

Subject: [VuFind-Tech] Holds/Renewals for Horizon?

Hi folks

We're getting close to presenting our VuFind test system to our
borrowers (have a look at it here if you'd like:
http://ec2-122-248-206-156.ap-southeast-1.compute.amazonaws.com/vufind/

). Thanks very much for all the help to the list at large and to
Demian
Katz in particular.

Just a question about Horizon: Is there anyone out there who has holds
and/or renewals working with Horizon? We don't seem to have either.

Regards,
Carlos.
