I've tried to install Vufind using XAMPP on Windows XP. I followed the instructions (http://www.vufind.org/wiki/installation_windows), but when I've tried to startup vufind by executing the command: java -Dsolr.solr.home=c:\vufind\solr -Xmx1G -Xms1G -jar start.jar , it takes me an infinite waiting. Finally prompt says "Started SelectChannelConnector@".

I don't find the problem. I've followed all previous steps and it seems to be all ok. What I need to do or what I mistake?

Best regards!

PD: I have XAMPP 1.7.1 and JDK 1.5.0u19. I think it's all I need, don't it?

PD2: I also have tried to execute that command with 256m and 512m for java, but the result is the same.

That sounds pretty good. That debug output of Jetty/Solr usually means
that Solr is ready to serve requests.
You should be able to index data and search it through VuFind now (if
VuFind is set up correctly). And you should be able to access the Solr
web console with a web browser pointing it to
http://[Solr-host]:8080/solr/biblio/admin now.

What doesn't work? Have you tried indexing records? Have you called
VuFind in a web browser and tried some searches? What's going wrong?

In case anyone is interested, I've followed up my revision of the Ubuntu installation instructions with a similar document on running under Fedora:

This was a bit more complicated than Ubuntu, mainly due to Fedora's use of the SELinux security module, but I eventually found a way through.  If anybody else has already done this and has better advice on working with SELinux, I'd be interested in hearing about it -- this was new territory for me, so it's entirely possible that I didn't navigate it in the most elegant possible way.  However, as it stands, these instructions should work well enough to get VuFind up and running (even the Voyager / OCI stuff).
