I've been searching for a .deb that would let me add vtcl to my Ubuntu Hardy system, but I can't find it in any of the standard repos, although it is listed as a directory in universe (but empty).
Has something happened to it?
I use Debian and I also could not find Visual TCL in the repositories, which not only is a pity but also quite strange -- why would not Debian want something like VisualTCL? I suppose the problem is lack of maintainers.
However, if you (or anybody else who comes to this page) are looking for an updated, ready-to-run VisualTCL, I recommend that you download it from here: http://code.google.com/p/vtcl-bin/downloads/list . The files there are binaries for Windows and Linux which, if unzipped, are run simply by executing them (the so-called "starpacks"), even if you haven't got TCL/TK installed in your system, and they come packed with a good number of TK extensions and tools. Also, they seem to be updated for TCL/TK 8.5 compatibility.
