Include the local filename or database (w/ timestamp) that is the source of the plotted data as a footnote within the chart. Otherwise that info just appears at the bottom of the program window, and gets lost when using the print or save features.

I've created a patch for this which I will try and attach. I couldn't exactly find a way to make it a footnote, so I did what I thought was the next best thing which is to make it a subtitle. For files it will show the full load path, which might get a bit unruly, for database it shows date/time database.

err, guess I can't attach it, I'll send it your way David.

Thanks Adam. I have adapted your patch to suit. BTW, you *ought* to be able to attach a file by clicking on "Add a File" below. It's not all that obvious that it can be clicked. Please let me know if you can't.

Mike, reassigning this to you for your feedback.

One thing I'm wondering is whether, for AAVSO download files at least, we want to pull the name of the star out of the observations in the file and use that in the title so we don't have the file name twice (title and subtitle). For simple file format files, the star name would just be omitted from the title with the file path appearing in the sub-title as now.

Oddly, I used to see add a file on these tracker items. I see it on ones that I'm assigned. However, on tickets that Your or Mike own I see no add a file link. Just the attached file section with not link. Even stranger is when I check the About revision ticket where I had attached files, I no longer see the add a file link there.

Adam, that's odd. Can you tell me whether you still have the same problem? I modified some of your SF VStar project perms.

In the example given, the name is pulled from the 10-star training drop down menu in the GUI. The database star names look like this: EPSILON AUR, APS AUR.

The current method works well. We might just want to look at some of the details of nomenclature in displaying the names.
