vsqlite: visual interface for sqlite

two modes of execution

vsqlite can run as

  1. a visual application for the desktop (built using webkit-gtk)
  2. a web server that enables users with a browser to browse the contents of an *.sqlite file (built using node.js)
case 1 - vsqlite application

In the first case the user can run the "vsqlite" executable.

$./vsqite db.sqlite

opens screen for manipulating the db.sqlite database

case 2 - vsqlited server

In the second case the user can start the vsqlited.js server daemon.

$ node vsqlited.js db.sqlite
vsqlite daemon listening on port 3000 in development mode

Now open browser to localhost:3000 to manipulate the db.sqlite database.

installation

case 1 - vsqlite application

install dependancies: sqlite3

$cd src
$make
$make install

case 2 - vsqlited server

install dependancies: sqlite3
install nodejs
install npm

$cd vsqlite_code
$npm install

"npm install" will read the contents of the file package.json and install the required node dependancies for the vsqlited.js daemon
