Project Status Update

I'm sure the project looks dead, but worry not it is still alive. I personally have been on a coding hiatus for the past summer for several reasons. At any rate, I thought it would be a good idea to update those who are interested on the project status and give you the "roadmap" for the 2.0 release.

1) Reporting Module - 9/1/2004
The reporting module is one of two things stopping the new and improved 2.0 release. I've spent some time thinking up how it should work and have outlined it on my development blog (http://bitwarehouse.com/bloq/). Once its finished, we'll be very close to the beta release.

2)Fix hideous bug in vscd. - 9/5/2004
There is a bug in the vscd that causes it to die unexpectedly without warnings/errors/notices in either log or errlog files. I suspect this has something to do with scan requests which have bad policy numbers, but more investigation is needed.

3) Revisit request.php - 9/15/2004
The request mechanism is one of the [obviously] most important components of the web interface. Revisit this to make sure that everything works as expected and fails gracefully when it does not.

4) Resync module SQL files with current database state in preparation for release. - 9/20/2004
Note to self: this wouldn't be a problem if you kept them updated while you are coding.

5) Rework and document new installation system for easy installation. - 9/30/2004
Note: don't forget to list _ALL_ dependencies!

6) Feature freeze - 9/30/2004

7) Fix and test, fix and test - 10/8/2004

8) Beta release - 10/9/2004

9) Fix and test, fix and test - 10/18/2004

10) Final release - 10/20/2004

No promises on keeping these dates, but I will do my best. Check back for updates.
