When do you plan on having this certified for use?

What hardware do you plan on using?

    Are there redundant storage devices?

Is the paper receipt machine readable, and if so, how do you plan on keeping the vote secret & in sync with the machine copy?

What method of data transport do you plan on using?

    Power backup?

    Hearing/Visual impaired assistive devices?

How does the user select his/her correct ballot screen?

    Open Primaries/Closed Primaries/Slate Voting/Selective Primaries.

I am not sure how to respond to your questions.  Since the proposal is not at the production stage, certification is not yet relevant, though with some help, and a bit of luck, perhaps it will become an issue.
Much of the rest of your comments/questions are addressed in the proposal.  For instance, there is no "machine copy" of the ballot - the ballot machines are simply output devices that are easier to create, verify and read ballots with, not ballot counters.  The data transport is the same mechanism that is used today - ballots are placed in a ballot box, which is hand carried to a local authority (probably the county) where the ballots are read by a barcode reading machine and counted in such a manner.
Clearly, some of the details need to be worked out, but ballots machines can easily be setup for whatever election is going on, and the voter need not be able to select the type of election - rather it should be done as it is now, the booth (and ballot choice) determines the primamry election choice, and the generals are the same for all.

I would like to clarify that the proposal is intended to keep things as much like they are already as possible.   The idea is to create a verifiable ballot by both the voter and the vote counter.
