From https://lists.dit.upm.es/pipermail/vnuml-users/2006-October/000511.html:
Recently, I was working with a OSPF scenario mixing virtual an real machines and I've discovered some extrange behaviour:
1. OSPF adjacencies between two real machines work fine (I mean, each neighbour "see" the other neigbour) 3. OSPF adjacencies between a real machine and a virtual doesn't work. It seems that during the adjacency establishment protocol, both peers block in the ExStart state (as shown with the 'sh ip ospf neighbour') 2. OSPF adjacencies between two virtual machines work fine
I'm not using quagga, but zebra/ospfd 0.94 (actually, an slightly modified version of the original code, but modification are not related with the OSPF adjacency establishment process where the strange behaviour is being observed).
Anybody has experienced with OSPF mixed scenarios, please? Have you observed this behaviour (or any other strange one)?

A report (https://lists.dit.upm.es/pipermail/vnuml-users/2006-November/000529.html) pointing out that with quagga all seem to be right.
