If the flv recording mode gets around the object limit you might be able use the method that worked for me: http://excess.org/article/2008/07/creating-high-resolution-screencasts-vnc2swf/ Maybe change the "vnc2swf -n -o tutorial.swf .." to "vnc2swf -n -o tutorial.flv .." instead of converting in the next step? I record audio separately and use the flv format because the flash player I use requires flv. When I used this method (unmodified) I was able to record more than 80 minutes. However, it might have worked for me because of the really basic window manager that the presenter used (less rectangles).
